Our collection of 2,500 folktales has been divided into two sections –

1-Collection

The first category is of “Collection”. In this category the tales have been collected from various sources and put together under several headings. Those headings are :-

1-List of Books by Countries – Here is the list of those continents or countries from which the folktales have been collected and grouped under their names.

2-List of Books by Topics – Here is the list of specific topics on which the folktales have been collected. They do not belong to any specific country but only to a specific topic.

3-List of Books by Series – Here is the list of books written under a specific series “One Story Many Colors”. Many a time it happens that one famous tale is told and heard in many variations, sometimes in the same country and at other time in other countries too. Some of these famous titles are given here under this series. For example one name is of Cinderella. This story has 365 variations. Although I have given here only a few variations but from them you can guess its extant. Read them and enjoy different types of Cinderella.

4-Miscellaneous Books – This page lists the books which do not come under the above categories. They are general not the folktales.

5-Books Published – This page lists the titles of those books which have been published by the publishers and are available in the market.

2-Classic Books
There have been many books which are old, not easily available or accessible, classic, popular, or even less-known. They have never been translated in Hindi before. We have tried to translate the tales of those books. They have not been translated cover to cover, but their all tales have been translated. So they are given here as translated books. In this category there are included four types of books –

1-All books of African folktales
2-All books of Indian folktales
3-As many books as possible from Asia and Europe from pre-1900 era
4-Some interesting books
